Antidepressant medications: remron,zoloft and wellbutrin

Hello all,

Dr. had me on remron,which helped greatly but I could not stop eating. Gained much weight.

Dr. took me off that and put me on zoloft,which also worked well and greatly decreased my eating. However it completely removed any desire for and ability to have sex.

Saw Dr. yesterday and he put me on wellbutrin 100 mg.

I take Zoloft 50mg. in A.M. and starting today I am to take wellbutrin at 4 P.M.

A: How long were you on the Zoloft, flstplt? You might want to give it some time before you judge the sex drive thing. The same thing happened to me for about the first 6 to 10 months I was on Effexor, but guess what? We're over that and things in that area
have never been better!! ;-)

I'm relaxed and not all strung out with anxieties and worries, etc., so I can finally enjoy. These drugs may take quite some time to work all the bugs out of us. We're used to drugs like aspirin and pepto-bismal that work right away. Anti-depressants are different. All the positive effects may not be experienced for weeks, maybe even months. It's so hard to be patient, but as long as the drug is controlling the symptoms, it's worth giving it some time to see if the side effects will work themselves out.

A: I tried 7 different anti-depressants before I found one that worked. Took a total of 2 years!! I've been on zoloft now off and on for about 7 years. It has decreased my sex drive a LOT, but it has helped my depression, anxiety and PMS. I think on the whole it has been a God-send.
